Robert De Niro is making his debut in television with “Zero Day”, an ambitious new Netflix series.
Created by Eric Newman (Narcos, Griselda) and Noah Oppenheim (Jackie), the show boasts an impressive creative team and an all-star cast, including Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, Matthew Modine, Dan Stevens, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, and Clark Gregg.
In Zero Day, De Niro portrays former U.S. President George Mullen, who leads the Zero Day Commission in the aftermath of a catastrophic cyberattack that has plunged the nation into chaos and resulted in thousands of deaths.
As Mullen races to uncover the perpetrators and prevent another attack, he grapples with disinformation, power struggles across tech, Wall Street, and government, and the dark secrets of his own past. The series questions whether the real threat comes from foreign adversaries or lies closer to home.
The show is directed and executive produced by Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland) and also executive produced by Robert De Niro and Jonathan Glickman.
Mark your calendars: Zero Day premieres on Netflix on February 20, 2024.
