KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned sloganeering against institutions in an event held in Lahore on Sunday.
In a statement released by the media cell of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Zardari said that no platform should be used against institutions, adding that the survival of Pakistan depended on our institutions and it is a pity that one person had given nothing but abuse and hatred to this country.
Asif Zardari said that would all know where this person is coming from and at whose request he is spreading hatred against institutions. President Zardari also said that our soldiers and officers were sacrificing their lives in their uniforms and slogans against them are highly condemnable.
The statement from Asif Zardari followed an earlier statement by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which condemned the “unjustified sloganeering” against Pakistan army at the Asma Jahangir Conference.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, who was sitting as a Chief Guest at the moot, took to Twitter and expressed dismay over the incident. He later submitted his resignation late last night.
It may be recalled that the Asma Jahangir Conference held in Lahore on Sunday witnessed unexpected events as some of the people from the audience started sloganeering against Pakistan Army in the presence of top ministers and journalists.
