Yograj Singh, the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has once again launched a scathing attack on former India captain MS Dhoni. Yograj, who had a brief international cricket career himself, has accused Dhoni of ruining his son’s career and has made some strong statements about the former captain’s actions.
In a recent interview with Zee Switch’s YouTube channel, Yograj Singh declared that he would never forgive MS Dhoni for what he believes Dhoni did to Yuvraj’s career. Yograj expressed his deep frustration and claimed that Dhoni’s actions had caused irreparable damage to his son’s prospects.
“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life—first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong to me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,” Yograj said.
This latest outburst is not an isolated incident. Earlier this year, Yograj had claimed that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost the IPL 2024 due to Dhoni’s “bad deeds” and accused Dhoni of being “jealous” of Yuvraj. Yograj suggested that Dhoni’s lack of sportsmanship, including not shaking hands with Yuvraj, contributed to CSK’s failure.
Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, remains active in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, there is uncertainty surrounding his future with CSK, and it is unclear whether he will continue playing in the next IPL season.
Adding fuel to the fire, Yograj also criticized former India captain Kapil Dev in his recent remarks. He claimed that despite Kapil Dev being a celebrated cricketer, Yuvraj’s achievements far surpass his, emphasizing that Yuvraj has accumulated 13 trophies compared to Kapil Dev’s single World Cup victory. Yograj’s contentious relationship with Kapil Dev has been evident for some time, as he previously blamed Dev for Yuvraj’s exclusion from the Indian team.
Yuvraj Singh himself has largely stayed out of the controversy, but an old video has resurfaced, where he addresses his father’s mental health issues. Amidst the ongoing criticism from Yograj, this video has gained attention on social media.
