A shocking shooting incident took place at the residence of controversial YouTuber Rajab Butt in Lahore, sparking concern across social media platforms.
According to details, the attack occurred in the jurisdiction of Chuhang Police Station, where unidentified individuals on a motorcycle opened fire at Rajab Butt’s house and fled the scene at high speed.
Police officials reported that, fortunately, no one was present in the house at the time of the shooting, so no casualties occurred. Upon receiving the report, law enforcement promptly arrived at the scene, collected CCTV footage, and launched an investigation. Based on preliminary evidence, efforts are underway to identify and arrest the culprits.
It is worth noting that in March 2025, Rajab Butt launched his perfume brand titled “295,” referencing Pakistan’s blasphemy law section. The name triggered immense public backlash, leading to charges under the cybercrime act and Section 295-A (blasphemy), and prompted mass protests by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
Following intense criticism, Rajab Butt released an apology video holding the Quran, announcing that the perfume had been discontinued. He stressed that he never intended to insult religion or Islamic values.
Later, after his wedding, he was arrested for unlawfully receiving a lion cub as a gift. As per wildlife protection laws, he was sentenced to one year of community service and placed under strict compliance oversight.
In June 2025, a woman filed a case accusing Rajab Butt, along with YouTuber Maan Dogar and others, of drugging her food, raping her, and blackmailing her using obscene videos. A formal case was registered against them.
Just yesterday, a citizen filed a petition in the Lahore Sessions Court, accusing Rajab Butt of using language disrespectful to societal and religious values. The court has issued notices to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Rajab Butt is frequently criticized for his satirical wedding vlogs and exaggerated commentary on sensitive religious and cultural topics, which many believe cross the boundaries of social and religious decency.
