According to details, Youm-e-Takbeer is celebrated every year on May 28, and it is the memorable day when Pakistan emerged as the first Islamic nuclear power in the world and made the country’s defense invincible by conducting nuclear tests.
In response to India’s nuclear explosions, during the government of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan conducted 5 successful nuclear explosions on May 28, 1998, at the Chagai site in Balochistan, after which this day is remembered as ‘Youm-e-Takbeer.’
There will be a general holiday across the country today on Youm-e-Takbeer, special events will be held, and salutations will be paid to the protectors of the homeland.
The Armed Forces, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and Service Chiefs congratulated the people of Pakistan and said in their message that the Armed Forces are fully prepared and determined to defend the motherland.
The message stated that Youm-e-Takbeer reminds of that great moment in 1998 when Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power. Pakistan restored strategic balance in South Asia and asserted its right to defense. Pakistan’s strategic capability is a national trust reflecting public aspirations. The Armed Forces are fully prepared and determined to defend the motherland.
