Australia ended Pakistan’s hopes of claiming glory after defeating by five wickets in the second T20 World Cup semi-final. Glenn Maxwell and Haris Rauf were seen exchanging jerseys after the match between the two teams was over.
Glenn Maxwell heaped praises on Haris Rauf while sharing a photo of them holding each others jerseys. In an Instagram post, Maxwell said he is proud of Haris Rauf, “I’m so proud of how far this young man has come.”
“What he has done for the @starsbbl and Pakistan cricket has been extraordinary! He is a fine human and a great teammate, and someone who I will always treasure as a friend. You are a superstar,” Maxwell posted on social media.
Haris Rauf has played under Maxwell’s captaincy for Big Bash League franchise Melbourne Stars. Maxwell also lauded Haris’ magnificent performance for the BBL franchise Melbourne Stars and the Pakistan cricket team.
Maxwell tagged Rauf called him a “superstar”. Rauf showed a stellar performance in the tournament. From six matches in the T20 World Cup, the right-arm pacer took eight wickets and maintained an economy rate of 7.30 in the mega event.
After five consecutive wins in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan lost against Australia in the semi-final by five wickets. Australia will next play New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final on Sunday November 14.
