LAHORE: Yasir Hussain starrer biopic on Pakistan’s most notorious serial killer Javed Iqbal finally has a new release date, with the film set to premiere on January 28.
The film Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer was previously slated to release on December 24. Yasir Hussain is playing Javed Iqbal and Ayesha Omar a fictionalised police officer investigating his crimes.
Hussain, taking to social media, shared the poster of his upcoming venture with the new release date. “Javed Iqbal January 28, 2022. In cinemas near you. Don’t come alone to watch it,” the Jhooti actor shared.
In another post, he shared a picture with Omar, the leading lady of the film and talked about the chemistry between the two.
Sharing the picture was from their shooting days of Javed Iqbal, the Karachi Se Lahore actor penned, “I learned a lot from Ayesha Omar on the shoot.” Hussain added, “Thanks Ayesha for your care and great ideas. You guys will love the chemistry between a police officer and a criminal.”
The film revolves around Pakistan’s worst known serial killer Javed Iqbal, who confessed to murdering over 100 children in Lahore in 1999. He was infamous for delivering the details of his crimes to the authorities along with evidence. In October 2000, Javed was found dead in his prison cell.
