Popular social platform X (formerly Twitter) is reportedly testing a new feature called “Group Video Calls,” which is expected to be announced in the coming weeks or months.
With the X Group Video Calls feature, users will be able to initiate group video meetings from the web app, likely similar to the functionalities offered by Zoom and Google Meet.
Chris Park, an employee at X, revealed the existence of X Conference and provided details about the ongoing internal testing.
According to Park, the tool is in its early development stages and currently supports basic multi-person video conferencing capabilities. While these features may not yet rival the advanced options available on Zoom or Google Meet, significant upgrades are anticipated soon.
Park indicated that future enhancements might include features like pinning speakers and improved notification systems, positioning X Conference as a potential competitor to platforms such as Google Hangouts, Zoom, AWS Chime, and Microsoft Teams.
