The Pakistan Champions squad for the World Championship of Legends 2025 has been announced, with the surprising inclusion of middle-order batter Umar Amin emerging as the most notable highlight.
According to details, this will be the first time Umar Amin represents Pakistan in this format. The Pakistan Champions team will play their first match today, July 18, against England Champions at Edgbaston, Birmingham, where the second season of the event will officially begin.
This time, former captain Mohammad Hafeez has been given the responsibility of leading the team, replacing Younis Khan. Both Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, who were part of the previous edition, have not been included in the squad this time.
Among the notable new additions to the squad are wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed and left-arm fast bowler Rumman Raees, while senior players such as Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Sharjeel Khan, Wahab Riaz, and Sohail Tanvir have been retained.
In the first season played last year, Pakistan Champions delivered an excellent performance by defeating Australia, West Indies, and India, and also secured a win in the semi-final.
A massive total of 243 runs was posted against India, resulting in a 68-run victory; however, in the final, Pakistan once again faced traditional rivals India and suffered a defeat by five wickets.
