GENEVA: International Civil Aviation Day is being observed today all over the world, including Pakistan, with the aim of promoting awareness about the aviation sector.
According to details, in 1996 the United Nations passed a resolution declaring World Aviation Day. Every year on December 7, the member countries celebrate Civil Aviation Day.
The United Nations says the purpose of celebrating World Aviation Day is to provide the safest aviation services to travelers, including tourists, and to build and develop the sector.
The fastest way to travel from one country to another is by air. Distances have been reduced. Every year, 25 million people worldwide use airplanes for travel.
From the takeoff to the landing of the aircraft, the importance of the civil aviation sector is considered key. Radar and other state-of-the-art equipment keep an eye on aircraft flying at thousands of feet. Founded in 1944, 77 years ago today, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) came up with the idea of seeking UN approval 52 years after its inception, which marked the beginning of the celebration of World Day.
