Women among four shot dead in various parts of Karachi

KARACHI: Four people including a woman were killed and two others were injured on Wednesday in different firing incidents in various parts of the city.
According to details, two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a rickshaw at the railway bridge near Younis Chowrangi within the limits of the Quaidabad police station.
The incident took place when a woman and man were traveling in the rickshaw. Police and Rangers reached the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for medical assistance where both succumbed to their injuries. The bodies of the victims were taken for Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post mortem and other legal procedures.
Station House Officer (SHO) Amin Khoso has said that the victims have been identified as 30-year-old Obaid-ur-Rehman and 21-year-old Zahida, daughter of Ahmed Khan.
Eye-witnesses told police that the nine-seater rickshaw was carrying passengers when it slowed down at the railway bridge where suddenly two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire. The female victim was shot in the head, while the man received four bullet shots on his body, SHO further said.
Police said that the victims were residents of Muzaffarabad Colony. Police recovered the bullet shells of 30-bore pistol from the scene of the incident. The are trying to get CCTV cameras footage from a nearby company. Police said that matter seems to a personal enmity but have started started further investigation in various aspects.
In another incident, unidentified gunmen shot dead 50-year-old Ghulam Haider s/o Mollah Din near Lashi Goth in New Karachi area. The body of the victim was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and handed over to his heirs after completing legal formalities.
The victim was going to a mosque to offer his morning prayers when that the armed men opened fire indiscriminately, spraying more than 15 bullets on different parts of the his body. The victim was a rickshaw driver while police are investigating the incident.
A man was also shot dead while resisting a robbery attempt in a street near Farooq-e-Azam mosque street in Aisha Manzil area within the limits of the Jauharabad police station.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Abbasi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. police said the victim was identified as 42-year-old Atif Kamal s/o Waleed Mohammad Kamal
Meanshile, a man named Miraj Vlad Khurshid, 30, was injured in firing during a robbery near Shams Mosque near SITE industrial area. Armed suspects opened fire on during a robbery attempt near Norani Park in Orangi Town area. The victims Bilal s/o Yasin, aged 18, was injured and was taken to Abbasi Hospital for medical assistance.
