Pakistan’s top diplomat in Moscow has warned that Islamabad could resort to its full military arsenal, including nuclear weapons, if it is attacked by India or if New Delhi disrupts Pakistan’s water supply.
In an interview with Russian news outlet RT, Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali said, “The aggressive rhetoric from Indian media and certain irresponsible statements from Indian officials have raised serious concerns.
There are reports and leaked documents indicating potential plans to strike targets within Pakistan, which have heightened our sense of urgency and the perception that such action may be imminent.”
He further said that Pakistan would not engage in comparisons of military strength with India, but would instead rely on its entire defense capability if provoked. “When it comes to India and Pakistan, we do not wish to engage in a discussion on numerical superiority. However, we are prepared to utilize the full spectrum of our power — both conventional and nuclear — if necessary,” he said.

These comments come in the wake of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 individuals, predominantly tourists, were killed. The attack has significantly escalated tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
India has accused Pakistan of providing support to militant groups allegedly involved in the incident. Islamabad has categorically denied any involvement and has called for a de-escalation of hostilities.
