Pushpa 2: The Rule is on track to break records at the Indian box office, with advance booking trends suggesting it will meet the high expectations.
According to a report by Indian Express on Monday citing Sacnilk, the film has already collected Rs 30.92 crore for its Day 1, and with three days to go before its release, the numbers are expected to rise further as Allu Arjun and the team ramp up promotions.
Nearly 7 lakh tickets have been sold across all languages and formats (2D, 3D, IMAX, 4DX). While the Telugu version has seen outstanding numbers, the Hindi version’s performance is equally impressive. The Telugu advance bookings have reached Rs 10.57 crore, while Hindi has amassed Rs 10.14 crore. The number of tickets sold is 3,40,892 for Hindi and 2,73,519 for Telugu, showing a remarkable parallel in demand.
Notably, the Telugu 2D version is leading, but the Hindi 3D and IMAX formats are seeing strong sales. Pushpa 1’s Hindi version had a Day 1 opening weekend collection of Rs 13 crore, and Pushpa 2 is set to surpass this with its Day 1 earnings.
The Malayalam version is performing well, while the Tamil and Kannada versions are picking up at a slower pace. However, with Tamil bookings only recently opening, and the state recovering from storms, a surge in bookings is expected soon.
Comparing with Kalki 2989 AD, which earned Rs 61 crore in advance bookings and went on to make Rs 95.3 crore on Day 1, there’s a chance Pushpa 2: The Rule could break the Rs 100 crore barrier on its first day. Paid premieres and price hikes in Telangana may further boost opening numbers.
Cast and Crew
Allu Arjun returns as the lead, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and others reprising their roles. Despite delays with the background score, Devi Sri Prasad’s album has been a hit. The background score for the film is now by Sam CS and Thaman S.
Budget and Expectations
Mythri Movie Makers have invested between Rs 400-500 crore into Pushpa 2, expecting strong returns at the box office. With Kalki 2989 AD as the only Rs 1000 crore film this year, all eyes are on Pushpa 2: The Rule to see if it can join this elite group.
Release Date
The film will be released on December 5 in multiple languages: Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Bengali.
