Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Pakistan at the end of this month, following a special invitation from Nawaz Sharif, sources revealed on Monday.
According to the sources, this will be a private visit, limited to Lahore, and will last only a few hours. Modi is expected to attend a wedding ceremony within the Sharif family. However, neither the Indian government nor the Sharif family has confirmed the visit so far.
It is worth noting that Modi shares a personal relationship with Nawaz Sharif, and the two leaders had previously met when Modi made a surprise visit to Lahore on December 25, 2015, while both were serving as Prime Ministers of their respective countries.
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that preparations are in full swing for the wedding of Zayed Hussain, the son of Hussain Nawaz and grandson of former three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The wedding is scheduled for December 25, which also marks the birthday of Nawaz Sharif.
Sources confirm that around 500 guests are expected to attend the Nikah ceremony on December 25. The wedding festivities will begin a day earlier, on December 24, with a Mehndi and Dholak ceremony at Jatiumra.
Following the Nikah, a Qawwali night is scheduled for December 26 at the same location. The celebrations will continue with the Sehrabandi and Barat (wedding procession) on December 27. Finally, the Walima ceremony will take place on December 29, with approximately 700 guests expected to attend.
In addition to family members and relatives from the Sharif family, the wedding will also feature foreign guests and other dignitaries. The grand event is expected to be a significant occasion for both the Sharif family and their extended guests.
