ISLAMABAD: Federal Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has vowed that the PTI-led federal government will bring back former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif using all legal means that are available.
Addressing a news conference today (Friday), the information minister asserted that it is necessary to bring back Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo to Pakistan.
“The government will approach the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) which will in turn ask the foreign ministry to put in a request to the British government for the PML-N supremo’s extradition,” he informed.
The federal minister further said that it was now the court’s job to decide in the matter and that the government will facilitate necessary action. “Those who are sought by the law must be brought back,” he added.
He asserted that Nawaz Sharif departed to London under the pretext of illness. “However, he neither undergoes any medical test nor sends his health reports sought by the Punjab government,” he claimed.
He criticised that Nawaz Sharif was running politics in Pakistan from London by contacting everyone including Bilawal Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman except Shehbaz Sharif.
Shibli Faraz asserted that Nawaz Sharif has also not submitted a single deed of his property for the past five or six years. “These people have done a lot of damage to the country,” he added.
Referring to Maryam Nawaz, he said that Maryam Nawaz was not summoned by the NAB for handing over any award but to question her over corruption charges. “It was the history of the PML-N for attacking courts,” he claimed.
