Warner Bros. has unveiled a new teaser for “A Minecraft Movie”, an adaptation of the world’s best-selling video game, and fans are far from impressed.
The 80-second trailer showcases Jason Momoa in a cheap wig and pink leather jacket, immediately catching viewers’ attention. Equally hard to miss is the excessive use of green-screen CGI.
The actor, known for his role as Aquaman, appears alongside a chaotic ensemble: awkwardly blocky sheep, a painfully out-of-place use of The Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour,” and some over-the-top green-screen performances. Momoa’s character gets pulled into the Minecraft universe, joining Emma Myers (Wednesday), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy), and Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple). To top it off, Warner Bros. also secured Jack Black for a cameo in 2024’s obligatory big-budget video game adaptation.
