Facebook has announced a notable modification to its live video functionality, which will impact users who regularly broadcast content on the platform.
Effective February 19, all live videos will be automatically removed after a period of 30 days, a significant change from the former policy that allowed such videos to remain accessible indefinitely.
The company indicated that any live videos exceeding 30 days will also be deleted from users’ accounts.
However, those affected will be notified and granted a 90-day period to save, download, or transfer their videos prior to deletion.
Additionally, Facebook has rolled out new tools designed to assist users in downloading older live videos, transferring them to cloud storage, or converting them into reels.
In a blog post, the company clarified that this update is intended to enhance the live video experience, although it did not provide specific reasons for the abrupt change in policy.
