Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has described the UAE’s denial of visas to Pakistani nationals as a “serious” issue. He attributes the high rate of visa rejections to problems with applicants’ documents and criminal records.
It was revealed that the UAE had declined visas for many Pakistanis over the past year, resulting in reduced employment opportunities for Pakistani nationals.
Ambassador Tirmizi mentioned that he recently held multiple meetings with UAE officials from the Emirati ministries of foreign affairs and human resource development to address the issue.

Discussing the lack of employment opportunities for Pakistanis, Tirmizi noted that the UAE no longer required unskilled labor as most of its physical infrastructure development was complete. “We need to train people now for high-skill jobs, such as well-trained IT experts, individuals trained in artificial intelligence, accounting professionals, doctors, physiotherapists, and laboratory technicians,” he said.
Tirmizi also said that he had requested the Pakistani government to launch a four-year nursing program that would be recognized in the UAE and the entire Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
