LONDON: Controversial TikToker Hareem Shah is currently under the protection of London’s Scotland Yard after she received threats in the UK’s capital, The News reported on Monday.
A spokesperson from the London police confirmed that Hareem, also known as Fiza, had filed a complaint with the police, alleging blackmail, harassment, and threats from certain individuals.
The TikTok personality approached the authorities after a falling out with acquaintances in Manchester, where she had been residing.
Recently, anonymous accounts on social media shared videos and images of Hareem, sparking controversy.
The situation escalated when a group of British Pakistanis accused Hareem of stealing £5,000 to £5,500 from them in Manchester before fleeing to London. However, Hareem vehemently denies these allegations, urging her accusers to pursue legal action rather than resorting to social media slander and intimidation tactics.
Following Hareem’s complaint, both local police in Slough and the UK government’s Modern Slavery Human Trafficking Unit (MSHTU) launched an investigation.
Authorities advised Hareem to relocate from her known address near London to a safer location arranged by the police, as individuals allegedly connected to the case were attempting to locate her through her friends.
Having left Pakistan over a year ago, Hareem asserts that she now resides permanently in London.
She stated, “I have been threatened and harassed by a criminal group, and I have provided evidence of their blackmail to the police. I am grateful for the protection provided by the police, the Home Office, and the local government. The truth is simple: if this group believes I stole their money, they should take legal action against me instead of resorting to false accusations and threats.”
Despite her absence from Pakistan, Hareem remains a prominent figure in the news. Months ago, her husband, Bilal Shah, went missing after arriving in Karachi from London. Hareem claimed he was “kidnapped for unknown reasons,” while Bilal’s family asserted that he was detained for questioning regarding Hareem’s social media activity, particularly her account on X (formerly Twitter), which has since been deleted.
