Model-turned-actor Ruchi Gujjar has allegedly slapped producer Karan Singh Chauhan at the premiere of the Hindi movie “So Long Valley” after accusing him of financial cheating a day earlier.
Gujjar had reportedly lodged a complaint against Chauhan, accusing him of cheating her out of ₹2.3 million (about USD 27,500) under the guise of producing a television show. The complaint was lodged with the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai, with an FIR having been registered under legal provisions for cheating, PTI reported quoting a police officer.
Gujjar said that Chauhan had assured her on-screen credit as well as profit-sharing. Yet the project was never materialized, and the money she paid was not refunded.
“The complainant has said that after taking the money, the producer has not done anything he had promised,” said a police officer.

In a fiery retribution, Gujjar confronted Chauhan at the premiere of the film a day after the complaint was filed. On camera and in front of her supporters, she attacked him with her sandal, calling for the release of the film to be put on hold until her financial concerns were addressed. She now has legal action against her under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian criminal code), including assault and criminal intimidation, NDTV reports.
