Actress Angelina Jolie has an ugly legal battle with ex-Brad Pitt over children’s custody and an estate dispute since the couple had split ways.
Facing these uphill struggles, the actress revealed she has developed Bell’s palsy during an interview with The Wall Street Journal. The Salt actress shared that her body reacts very strongly to stress.
She added, “My blood sugar goes up and down. I suddenly had Bell’s palsy six months before my divorce.” It was first diagnosed in 2017 when the 48-year-old was grappled with marriage woes as she had a divorce with the Oscar winner.
“Sometimes women who have families put themselves last until it manifests itself in their own health,” she previously told Vanity Fair in an interview.
Bell’s palsy
Bell’s palsy is a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face. In most cases, the weakness is temporary and significantly improves over weeks. The weakness makes half of the face appear to droop. Smiles are one-sided, and the eye on the affected side resists closing.
Pitt-Jolie split
The duo parted ways in 2016 after marrying in 2014. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sparked a relationship after filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith together in 2005. They had six children together — three adopted and three biological — and got married in 2014.
