Killers of the Flower Moon which was released in theatres in October before debuting at the Cannes Film Festival is now ready and available to stream on an OTT platform.
With a runtime of three-and-a-half-hour, the R-rated film is an adapted version of David Grann’s 2017 novel starring a start studded cast. Plot
The story takes place amid the “Reign of Terror,” a period that refers to the mysterious murders that took place after major oil deposits were discovered on the Osage nation’s land in the early 1920s.
Its plot centers on a series of Oklahoma murders in the Osage Nation during the 1920s, committed after oil was discovered on tribal land. The movie will deal with a gruesome story about a group of people claiming land that doesn’t belong to them while looking for resources, but the effect they will have on the community that already lives there could bring devastating consequences with it.
Critics
The movie was met with immediate critical acclaim upon its debut at Cannes Film Festival. It was honored as the best feature of 2023 by the New York Film Critics Circle last week, and also received the Gotham Historical Icon and Creator Tribute at the Gotham Awards where it won best score. The film will likely receive several Oscar nominations, with many predicting a Best Actress nod for Lily Gladstone, Best Director and Best Picture recognition for Scorsese and Best Actor for Dicaprio, among others.
