WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app with nearly 2 billion monthly active users, will stop working on older smartphones in 2025 due to compatibility changes with operating systems.
As WhatsApp continues to evolve and introduce new features, some older devices will no longer support the app. Starting January 1, 2025, over 20 Android smartphones will lose access to WhatsApp. This change affects devices running outdated Android versions, particularly Android 4.4 (KitKat) or earlier.
