WhatsApp and Instagram, owned by Meta have been restored hours after it went down for several users across the globe last night.
During the outage, users across the globe who tried logging in to the browser version or the platform’s mobile app faced an error message. The users were also unable to send messages or receive or use services like WhatsApp audio and video calls.
More than 17,000 incidents of users reported the issues, according to Reuters. According to the news portal, more than 30,000 users in India, over 67,000 in the United Kingdom, and 95,000 in Brazil reported problems with the platform.
Around 3,200 people were also facing issues with Instagram in the United States, as per Downdetector.
Earlier in March this year, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads users reported that the users were unable to access the social media apps.
