KARACHI: As the assassination news of prominent TV host and anchorperson Arshad Sharif continues to rock the internet, a video is making rounds on social media in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari is seen alleging that slain journalist Arshad Sharif was carrying head money.
The interview was taken a few days back to a private TV channel, during which she can be seen speaking about how some media persons could be targeted following recent changes in the country.
Without naming anyone, Shireen Mazari told the interviewer that she had come to know about ‘them’, and that ‘they’ had paid to some terror group to get Arshad Sharif assassinated. Eventually, she maintained, he [Arshad Sharif] had to leave Pakistan for abroad.

PTI leader Imran Khan, it may be added here, has already demanded that a proper judicial investigation must be instituted to examine statements of Arshad Sharif plus evidence that other sources have.
Arshad Sharif was shot in the head and killed by Kenyan police on Sunday in what has been described by Nairobi authorities as a ‘case of mistaken identity’.
Later in the day, Shireen Mazari tweeted that Arshad Sharif was pursued by our State and driven out of Pakistan till his targeted murder in Kenya.
He was pursued by our State & driven out of Pak till his targeted murder in Kenya. This is Barrister Shoaib one of his closest friends confirming what many of us knew. At the very least decency should be shown by those who drove him out of Pak to remain silent. Hypocrisy hurts. pic.twitter.com/CtfCrC9hgx
