Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, criticized the federal government and its allies, stating that while they do not seek confrontation or harm to anyone, the government is using unfair tactics to block their path.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s House, PTI members of the provincial assembly and other party leaders from all four regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa met with Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
During these separate meetings, they discussed and finalized the arrangements and preparations for the peaceful protest scheduled for October 4 in Islamabad. A strategy was also devised to ensure maximum participation.
Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized that they do not want any confrontation, saying, “The police are our brothers, and their harm is our harm.” He accused the federal government of using lowly tactics to block their way. “Peaceful protest is our constitutional and democratic right, and we will exercise this right.
The public views all their actions as wrong, and they are trying to weaken PTI under the guise of constitutional amendments.”
He acknowledged that the planning during the last protest was poor, which led to their early return. “Workers and leaders lacked quality masks and protective equipment, but this time, a special trained unit will lead the convoys.”
The Chief Minister further mentioned that “machinery will move ahead of the convoys, unlike last time when it was behind. If the roads are blocked, it could take days to reach D-Chowk.
This time, we will go fully prepared.” Convoys will depart at 11 a.m. from Peshawar and after 12 p.m. from Swabi. It was also decided that the Chief Minister himself will lead the convoys heading to the protest.
He also instructed that the leaders ensure discipline and adherence to the agreed-upon plan within the convoys. “We will exercise our democratic right in a peaceful manner, and causing harm is not our intention.”
