ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has stated that the weather would remain extremely cold in the upper regions of the country for the upcoming 24 hours.
According to the PMD, the temperature in Skardu and Astor would be extremely cold. Previously it was recorded -16 and -11, respectively.
Moreover, most plains areas of Punjab and upper Sindh will face a severe cold, while the temperature in some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain unchanged the other districts will receive fog at night.
The Punjab region, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Narowal, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Faisalabad, Okara, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur will be covered with fog.

In Sindh, Sukkur, Larkana, Rohri, Padiadan, and Jacobabad, were likely to be foggy at night and in the morning while other parts of the province will have dry and severe cold conditions.
The PMD stated that the weather is cold and dry in most districts of Balochistan province, while in Quetta, Kalat and Ziarat districts will be extremely cold.
Fog is likely to prevail overnight and early morning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab due to which Motorway Section from Khanewal to Multan was shut down as visibility was down to zero metres due to dense fog. Fog also disrupted the flow of traffic at the National Highway in Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Chicha Watni, Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Sangla Hill, Chishtian, Bahawalnagar and adjoining areas as visibility was very low.
