ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the government has only focused on ensuring the best living standards to the citizens.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that all we want was to move forward and implement what we had promised before coming into power.
The foreign minister was talking about the South Punjab province that the process to visualize South Punjab and turn into a reality should now be completed.
He added that those who were trying to oppose the idea should focus on the positives of this creation rather than projecting and highlighting the few negatives that exist.
Qureshi further said that the government did not seek any credit for fulfilling the south Punjab belt.
He while talking also announced that the inauguration of the South Punjab Secretariat would be completed by July. The province would be seen as a separate entity, he added.
A bill was passed in the National Assembly last year by the incumbent government seeking the creation of a province in south Punjab consisting of Seraiki-speaking districts.
Qureshi on Wednesday once again announced that the government would table a bill in the NA for the creation of the South Punjab province. He also congratulated the people of South Punjab for their sacrifices and said that a final look for the province was now becoming a reality.
