Diljit Dosanjh, currently touring India for his Dil-Luminati tour, encountered a minor accident during his performance in Ahmedabad. While singing his hit track ‘Patiala Peg’, the singer slipped on stage mid-performance but managed to regain his balance. A video of the incident has since gone viral.
Diljit paused the music to address the issue, identifying that the pyrotechnics used during the performance had spilled fuel onto the stage, causing the mishap. He urged the organizers to halt the use of such effects, stating, “Bhai yahan pe fire jo chhodte ho, mat chhodo. Tel aata hai yahan. I am okay (Bro, avoid using the fire effects here. There’s fuel on the stage).”
Fans were reminded of a similar incident from the early 2010s when Diljit fell during a joint performance with Yo Yo Honey Singh on Lakk 28. Despite the slip, Diljit continued his Ahmedabad show with energy and addressed another pressing issue, the legal notice he received before his Hyderabad concert, which required him to remove references to alcohol and drugs from his songs.

In Ahmedabad, while he had not received a similar notice, Diljit performed altered lyrics for Patiala Peg and emphasized his versatility, sharing, “I have sung dozens of devotional songs. In the last 10 days, I released two devotional tracks, but no one talks about them—only ‘Patiala Peg’ makes headlines.”

Diljit also proposed a challenge, stating, “If all states completely ban liquor, I will never sing about alcohol again. At the very least, declare a dry day on my concert dates, and I will refrain from performing any alcohol-related songs.”
The concert, despite the stumble, highlighted Diljit’s passion for connecting with his audience and addressing social concerns through his platform.
