Pakistan’s one of leading female media hosts, Ayesha Jehanzeb, recently participated in a podcast to describe her ordeal.
She openly discussed the failure of her first marriage and her father’s behavior, who never accepted her.
Talking about her first marriage, Ayesha said, “I got married at a very young age. It was a love marriage, but it failed miserably.
Two days after the wedding, I found out he drinks alcohol. I didn’t know about it. I got married at 22, and by 24, I realized it was the biggest mistake of my life. He was also interested in someone else.”
When Ayesha was asked if she still loved him, she replied, “I still love him, even though he is now dead, but I still have feelings for him. I had to forgive him so he could be at peace.”
Ayesha Jehanzeb further shared, “He gave me three beautiful children. He passed away when I was around 27 or 30 years old. I didn’t know he had cancer. My in-laws didn’t inform me. One day, a doctor called and told me about his condition. He asked me to be kind to him because he was going to die soon.”
After Jehanzeb’s burial, in a state of unconsciousness, people took me to a person and asked me to meet him. It was my father. I forgave him from my heart; I had to forgive him. If I could forgive my husband, I could do the same with my father.”
Social media users are praising Ayesha Jehanzeb’s courage and bravery, which she has demonstrated throughout her life. Many were saddened by the hardships she has faced.
Fans believe she is truly a strong woman to speak about the tragedies of her life, as women in Pakistan usually remain silent about failed marriages, separations, and parental divorces.
It is worth noting that Ayesha Jehanzeb is currently in the news for sharing her painful story of domestic violence. Recently, she went to a police station in Lahore, where she filed an FIR against her second husband, Haris Ali.
