The investigation into the murder of Mustafa Amir has taken an unexpected turn, with allegations of police involvement and a deeper connection to drugs and criminal activity.
Kamran Qureshi, father of the prime suspect Armaghan Qureshi, has insisted on his son’s innocence, instead pointing the finger at a police officer named Bilal. Kamran also claimed that the co-accused, Shiraz Bukhari, was the one responsible for Mustafa’s killing.
Authorities have revealed that Mustafa and Armaghan were friends but had a heated argument on New Year’s Eve. Following the dispute, Armaghan allegedly issued threats against Mustafa and a woman linked to the case.
On January 6, Armaghan reportedly called Mustafa to his home, where he subjected him to extreme violence. The woman in question left the country on January 12, and investigators are now working with Interpol to bring her in for questioning, as her testimony is considered crucial.

Days after Mustafa went missing, a burned vehicle was discovered near the Hub checkpost, containing charred human remains believed to be his. Following this grisly discovery, authorities charged Armaghan and Shiraz Bukhari, also known as Shavez, with murder, based on Shiraz’s statement.
Kamran Qureshi Alleges Policeman Involvement
Speaking to the media outside the Karachi Press Club on Monday, Kamran Qureshi admitted that his son is a drug addict but denied any involvement in drug dealing. He also defended Armaghan’s residence, insisting that it was a software house, not a criminal hideout as some reports suggest.
Kamran revealed that his son contacted him on February 8 regarding Mustafa’s case. He further alleged that during a police raid on Armaghan’s bungalow, officers deliberately destroyed surveillance cameras and forcefully took a bag from his wife.

In a shocking claim, Kamran accused Officer Bilal of being involved in Mustafa’s kidnapping for ransom. He vowed to take all possible legal measures to disprove the allegations against his son and expose what he called a fabricated case.
Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court has approved the physical remand of Armaghan Qureshi, ordering that he be presented before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) for further proceedings.
