KARACHI: Police and Pakistan Rangers Sindh conducted a joint raid in Orangi Town and arrested a most wanted Lyari gang war criminal.
According to Rangers spokesperson, the Lyari gangster Ismail alias Painter was arrested during a joint raid in Mominabad area of Orangi Town. The suspect was wanted in a wide range of criminal cases including extortion, kidnapping for ransom, murder and attacks on policemen.
The statement added that Ismail was hiding in a foreign country for five years over fear of being arrested during Karachi Operation. He returned to Karachi last month to revive the gang war again. The alleged gangster was handed over to police for further action.
Earlier Police conducted an operation and arrested three terrorists of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Qayumabad area of Karachi.
Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Darakshan and Station House Officer (SHO) Defence police station conducted a raid in Qayumabad D-Area and arrested the three terrorists. Two hand grenades, three improvised bombs, three pistols and ammunition rounds were recovered from their custody.
SSP South Zubair Nazir said that the arrested are wanted to the police and cases are registered against them at the Defence police station. He further said that search is underway to arrest their accomplices.
The suspects were identified as Rooh Khan, Khairullah Jan, and Karimullah Jan. A case number has been lodged against them under a wide range of offences at the Defence police station.
