FAISALABAD: A viral video showing a cleric in Faisalabad brutally beating a student at his seminary has sparked outrage on social media.
The horrific event occurred on July 24 at a seminary in the Saifabad neighborhood of Faisalabad, involving a 14-year-old boy who was physically abused by his Madressah teacher. The perpetrator, identified as Qari Rizwan, was seen violently assaulting the young boy in the footage that went viral online.
Following a complaint from Rashid Bashir, the boy’s father, a case was filed against the cleric of Jamia Ghousia Rizwia under sections 328A and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The Thikriwala police arrested the suspect after the charges were filed.
However, the police did not disclose the motive behind the cleric’s vicious attack.
According to police reports, Iqbal Division SP Imran Munir Saifi visited the victim’s house and assured the father that justice would be served for his son.
