A shocking revelation has emerged from India, where videos and images of women and young girls bathing in the Ganges during the sacred Maha Kumbh festival are reportedly being secretly sold online.
According to a report by India Today, several Facebook pages, Instagram groups, and other social media platforms have been found sharing semi-nude videos and images, which are being marketed and sold discreetly.
The report states that numerous social media accounts are capturing visuals of women bathing in the Ganges from different angles and posting them online.
These videos are initially blurred, and full access is allegedly being sold on Telegram. Posts titled Maha Kumbh Ganga Snan Prayagraj have surfaced across social media, raising concerns over privacy violations and digital exploitation.
The report further suggests that these images and videos might also be sold to various adult websites.
The Maha Kumbh Mela is one of the most significant Hindu religious gatherings, where millions of devotees take a ritual bath in the Ganges, believing it washes away sins.
The exploitation of such sacred rituals for illicit online trade has sparked outrage among religious and social circles.
