Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava has proved to be first blockbuster of the year, continuing to perform strongly at the box office even in its third week.
According to Indian media, the absence of big releases in February helped Chhaava maintain its box office success. On its 18th day, the film earned Rs8.50 crore. Despite a drop in earnings on the third Monday, the film’s overall performance remains strong.
A report states as per Sacnilk that Chhaava has collected Rs467.25 crores nett in India in three weeks. The film’s gross collection in India stands at Rs548.15 crores. Its worldwide earnings have reached Rs625.15 crores, with Rs77 crores from overseas markets.
Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava has surpassed Salman Khan’s Sultan (Rs623 crores worldwide in 2016), It also overtook Prabhas’ Salaar in box office earnings. The film is now targeting Gadar 2’s record of Rs690 crore worldwide.
Chhaava became the highest-grossing film on its third weekend, beating big Indian films like Pushpa 2, Stree 2, and Baahubali 2. In its third weekend, the film earned ₹60.10 crores. It surpassed Pushpa 2’s Hindi version (Rs60 crores), Stree 2 (Rs48.75 crores), and Baahubali 2 (Rs42.55 crores).
The film had a 12.71% overall occupancy on its third Monday. Pune recorded the highest occupancy at 24.50% (582 shows). Chennai had the second-highest occupancy at 20% (33 shows). Mumbai’s occupancy was 19% (1,143 shows), while Delhi NCR saw 9.50% (1,273 shows). Surat had the lowest occupancy at 5.75% (410 shows).
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava will release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam on March 7, 2025, as reported by Indian media on Tuesday.
