Varun Dhawan’s “Baby John” has been facing challenges in drawing audiences after its Christmas release. The film made an opening of Rs 11.25 crore, but its earnings dropped significantly to Rs 4.75 crore on the second day.
According to a report by Indian Express on Thursday, produced on a budget of Rs 160 crore, the movie is expected to earn around Rs 60 crore, according to trade analysts. On January 1, early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk reported a collection of just Rs 2.75 crore across India.

Meanwhile, “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” nearing its one-month release milestone on January 5, earned Rs 13.15 crore on its fourth Wednesday, with the Hindi version contributing Rs 9.5 crore. “Baby John,” directed by Kalees, had an overall occupancy of 22.38% on January 1, with approximately 1800 shows across India, down from 2500 shows in a week.

The film is expected to be one of Varun Dhawan’s lowest-grossing projects. Presented by “Jawan” director Atlee, it also features Keerthy Suresh and Salman Khan in a special cameo. The film’s total collection currently stands at Rs 35.40 crore India nett.

“Baby John” marked Varun Dhawan’s return to the big screen after his 2022 film “Bhediya,” which grossed Rs 94.91 crore against a budget of Rs 60 crore. Between “Bhediya” and “Baby John,” Varun appeared in “Bawaal,” which was released directly on Prime Video. His next project will be the film “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.”
