KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday indicted Lyari gangwar kingpin Uzair Baloch and others accused in the murder of SHO Civil Lines Police Station Fawad Khan.
Uzair Baloch was produced before the court hearing amid strict security by Rangers. Zubair Baloch, Abdul Ghaffar Mama and other suspects were also indicted in the case. Zakir alias Dada and Ramzan alias Ramzani have also been named among the suspects.
The president judge read out the charge sheet to Uzair in the courtroom who denied the charges and opted to contest them. The court subsequently issued notices to the investigation officer and witnesses to appear in court and record their statements.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused had attacked police in the jurisdiction of Kalakot police station during the Lyari operation in April 2012.
SHO Civil Lines police station Fawad Khan was killed in the attack, while three other policemen were injured in the ambush.
Earlier in August Uzair and other accused were indicted in the murder case of notorious gangster Arshad Pappu. Those charged for the murder included Uzair Baloch, Shahjahan Baloch, former SHO Chand Niazi, Yousuf and other suspects.
A case was registered against Baloch at the Kalakot police station for murdering Arshad Pappu, his brother Yasir Arafat and another associate in 2013. He has been accused of murdering a total of 198 people and being involved in a wide range of criminal activities.
Baloch was arrested by the Rangers on January 30, 2016. He was taken into custody was handed over to the Pakistan Army in 2017 over espionage charges and leaking information to foreign intelligence agencies.
