The latest Windows 10 patch (KB5030211) has added a new “Windows Backup” feature allowing users to backup user settings, installed applications and files but many users simply don’t like the feature.
Windows 10 September 2023 Update (KB5030211) started shipping on September 12 with many changes, including a new “Windows Backup” feature. This new app lets you back up and restore your system, but there’s a twist – Microsoft is installing the irremovable app on enterprise systems.
Consumers have taken issue with Microsoft forcing this feature on users without their consent, as many discovered the backup app in their start menus with no prior warning.
Bloatware, commonly defined as the deployment of unneeded or undesirable features as standard with many operating systems, has become popular among many tech companies.

Users of Windows 10’s LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) are among those who have reported problems with the most recent upgrade. This version of Windows is a condensed, lighter version of the full Windows 10 client that companies most frequently use.
While this app is designed to aid in system backups and restorations, eyebrows were raised when it was found to be included in the LTSC version with Windows 10 KB5030211. On one of our Windows 10 LTSC installations, we spotted the app installed and pinned to the Start Menu’s suggestions.
