KARACHI: The dollar has become cheaper and the rupee has become more stable in the interbank market.
According to the details, on the second day of the business week, the price of the dollar decreased by Rs2.49 paisa at the beginning of the business in the market.
The rupee appreciated by 98 paise against the US dollar at the start of interbank trading today, with the dollar trading at Rs 213.
It should be noted that the dollar was trading at Rs 213 after getting cheaper by Rs 2.49 paisa in the interbank yesterday, which later closed at 213.98. On Friday, the dollar closed at Rs 215.49.
On the other hand, Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail highlighted the reasons why oil is expensive in Pakistan despite being cheap in the world market and said that the prices of petroleum products across the country are determined by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Responding to the question of famous journalist and TV host Hamid Mir on the social networking website Twitter, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said, “I present to you a brief explanation of the prices of petrol and diesel in Pakistan.”
