The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan recently launched a new online system for scheduling visa appointments.
According to the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi, applicants are required to create a profile within this system before booking their appointments. Those who previously paid the visa fee or scheduled an appointment under the old system should register with the same email address to ensure a smooth transfer of their details.
For applicants who made their visa fee payments before February 3, 2025, the embassy advises entering the payment date and receipt number during the profile creation process. The embassy has also provided support channels, offering assistance via email or phone for any inquiries related to the updated process.
It should be noted that the Nonimmigrant Visa Units at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi handle visa services for individuals traveling to the United States temporarily, including tourists, business professionals, students, or specialized workers.
Moreover, all nonimmigrant visa application fees—commonly referred to as MRV fees—remain valid for 365 days from the date of issuance. Applicants are expected to book their interview appointments or submit an interview waiver application within this one-year period.
