Students of Federal Urdu University Gulshan Campus in Karachi protested on Monday against an increase in semester fees.
The student action committee was outraged by the increase in the semester fee of the courses offered at the university.
They chanted slogans within the campus premises while holding placards and banners.
According to the details, the students complained regarding the excess in semester fees which has been increased by 50 to 68%.
Moreover, the students warned that they would keep their protest continuing and would also opt to block the road until the university administration withdrew the decision of increasing the fee.
The university registrar, Dr. Mahjabeen said that it’s not the authority of the university administration to raise the fees.
Following the university protest, a heavy contingent was deployed to enhance the security of the staff.
