An Urdu mushaira (a poetry recital) has been arranged outside Cannoli by Café Soul.
The organisers of the Urdu mushaira have announced people to participate in the event in response to a video of Cannoli owners who mocked their manager for his English speaking skills.
According to details, the event will be held outside the restaurant in the capital city today. Around 18,900 people have responded to the invitation till the filing of this report, with 1,600 indicating they are going and 9,400 saying they are interested.
Special guidelines have been circulated on social media as well i.e. all the participants must recite poetry in Punjab and Urdu language.
The event’s guidelines have been stated as follows:

Two women named Uzma Chaudhry and Dia Haider, who are the owners of the ‘Cannoli by Cafe Soul’ made fun of the cafe’s manager. After introducing their names, the two of them started the insulting session with “how long have you been working for us?”
“I have remained working for the last nine years”, he responded. Adding to his answer the woman said he was the first hire when they started the café.

She went on to ask, “how many classes have you been taken to learn the English language?” The manager replied that he took three courses for six months each. The owner then asked to introduce himself in English, to which he replied fumbling, “My name is Awais Aftab and I job here manager, and that’s it.”
Reacting to the answer, the first woman said, “Shabash” mockingly while the other continued, “this is our manager who is been working with us for the last nine years and this is the beautiful English he speaks.”
While one was persistently mocking the manager, the other woman ended the clip by saying ‘this is what we paid you for.’
The recent viral clip shell-shocked many of the social media users, as the elites mocked and posted the clip of the man who gave nine years of his life to their business.
