MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that United Nations Secretary-General (UNSG) has endorsed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s plea for debt relief to the developing countries amid coronavirus pandemic.
Addressing a news conference today (Saturday), FM Qureshi said that the entire world including Pakistan was facing the impacts of coronavirus pandemic.
In this regard, the foreign minister urged the world to coordinate with each other to tackle the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
FM Qureshi said that the foreign ministry was following modern methodologies to help the stranded Pakistanis abroad, adding that the ministry had launched an App “FM Direct” to provide direct connectivity to our foreign missions in 117 countries.
Commenting on the hoarders, FM Qureshi said that action will be taken against hoarders and profiteers, adding that legislation has been made in this regard.
Referring to the business community, he said that the demands of the business community have been addressed through decreasing interest rates into single-digit while the construction industry has also been given incentives.
Earlier today (Saturday), Shah Mahmood Qureshi distributed protective kits and other safety material among the doctors of Nishter Hospital.
