KARACHI: Nearly two dozen unidentified people entered the seminar hall of the Otolaryngology Department of Jinnah Hospital at 11:00 am and broke the lock of the seminar hall door.
The report of it was given by the head of the department Dr. Muhammad Razzaq Dogar to the hospital management. However, no action was taken against them. On Thursday morning, the janitor of the ENT office reported that about two dozen people wanted to enter the office of Dr. Yasin Imrani, the president of the Young Doctors Association, who were barred, so they went to the seminar hall and forcibly broke the lock and entered. The administration did not take any action against him on the report of the incident.
It may be recalled that protests and demonstrations are going on in Jinnah Hospital by the supporters and opponents of Prof. Dr. Shahid Rasool, Director of the hospital. These are two groups of pro-and anti-Young Doctors Association which clashed three days ago. Due to which the shipment of doctors from Inner Sindh is said to have been transferred to Jinnah Hospital.
The Sindh government this month transferred 100 doctors from the interior of Sindh to Jinnah Hospital Karachi who is members of the Young Doctors Association or sympathizers and advocates. An opposition group insisted that their doctors be transferred to Jinnah Hospital. It should be noted that this quarrel has been going on for the last 10 days in which it has intensified for three days.
According to sources, the president of the Young Doctors Association, Dr. Yasin Imrani, allegedly called the workers of the People’s Students Forum to take the lead in the dispute. But the head of the department, Dr. Muhammad Razzaq Dogar, told him that he could not be allowed in without the consent of Dr. Yasin Imrani.
On this occasion, Dr. Yasin Imrani was called and the head of the department explained that he refused to recognize these people and took the position that these people are not obeying him at which all these persons tried to break the door of the seminar hall and broke the lock and entered and remained there till 5 pm.
It is not surprising here that some unknown persons entered the government lands which were also reported to the administration but no action was taken against them. This gives the impression that these people were called by Dr. Yasin Imrani.
It is worth mentioning here that the Young Doctors Association was initially formed for the welfare of the doctors who worked for the welfare of the doctors and solved their problems but for some time now the Young Doctors have been blackmailing the government and the administration.
He is now being likened by senior doctors to a bunch of crooks who are defaming a sacred profession like medicine and this is very unfortunate. Therefore, the Young Doctors Association will have to abandon this practice and get rid of the black sheep inside it. He tried several times to contact the director of Jinnah Hospital, Prof. Shahid Rasool, but he did not pick up the phone.
