GENEVA: The United Nations has said that the international community needs 100 billion to tackle the world’s environmental and economic problems, for which the banking sector must come forward.
In a message on Twitter, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the world needed at least 100 billion a year to tackle environmental problems and solve the problems of developing countries.
Earlier, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates predicted that the global community would face an environmental crisis that could have far worse effects than the coronavirus.
According to the International News Agency, Bill Gates wrote in his blog during August 2020 that no matter how terrible the coronavirus epidemic is, climate change can be worse than that and the biggest crisis will be faced, he said.
At a bare minimum, $100 billion dollars a year is needed for climate mitigation & adaptation for the developing world.
