ISLAMABAD: United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Tadamichi Yamamoto called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
During the meeting, matters pertaining to Afghan Refugees, Afghan peace process and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s recent visit came under discussion.
At the occasion, FM Qureshi said that a stable and prosperous Afghanistan is vital for economic progress of the entire region.
FM Qureshi further said, “Peace in the war-torn country imperative for regional connectivity.”
He maintained that Pakistan opened Torkham corridor to boost bilateral trade between the two countries, adding that the corridor will remain open for 24-hours a day.
