RAWALPINDI: Two terrorists belonging to the outlawed Tehreek-e- Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed during an operation in Nargosa area of South Waziristan.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted in Nargosa area of South Waziristan which led to a shootout with the TTP terrorists. In retaliatory fire by the security forces, two terrorists named Usman Ali and Waheed were shot dead, while another was arrested in injured condition.
The ISPR said the terrorists were associated with the Sajna group of the TTP and were expert in building explosives tunnel. It further said that Usman was involved in the martyrdom of Captain Umer Cheema on October 20 last year and other security personnel.
On January 14, security forces conducted two separate Intelligence-based operations (IBOs) on terrorist hideouts in North Waziristan. Two terrorists including an IED expert killed in IBOs.
During the exchange of fire, 3 soldiers embraced martyrdom. These were identified as sepoy Azaib Ahmed, resident of Karak, sepoy Zia Ul Islam, resident of Bannu and Lance Naik Abbas Khan, resident of Distt Orakzai
Earlier on October 4 last year, two wanted terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan. According to the spokesperson of the military media wing, the intelligence-based operation (IBO) had been conducted in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.
