Two tourists tragically lost their lives when a glacier collapsed in Naran, a popular tourist destination in the Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to police reports, the tourists were visiting the Kaghan Valley and were taking photographs along the Lake Saif-ul-Malook road when the glacier suddenly collapsed, fatally injuring both individuals. The deceased, who were from Rajanpur, Punjab, had their bodies transported back to their hometown.
This incident underscores previous tragedies caused by glacier collapses in the area, including the deaths of two women from Karachi due to falling ice several years ago. Despite warnings posted at the site urging tourists to keep a safe distance from the glacier, these precautions were not heeded.
Authorities issued an official warning just one week ago regarding the risk of glacier collapses for tourists visiting Naran and Kaghan during this period.
