KARACHI: Four people including two TikTok stars were shot dead on Tuesday morning as unknown gunmen opened fire on a vehicle they were traveling in after filming a video.
The incident occurred in Garden area outside the Anklesaria Hospital where two people including a woman named Muskan and her friend Saddam Khan were killed, while two injured named Aamir and Rehan succumbed to injuries on their way to a hospital.
A TikTok video of the woman along with one of the injured has surfaced recently showing Muskan filmed moments before the incident. It is suspected that they were targetted after filming the video. CCTV footage of the incident shows assailants following the vehicle on a motorcycle and rickshaw.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) City Sarfaraz Nawaz said the incident was reported around 4.45 am on Tuesday morning. He said the initial investigation has revealed killings were due to personal enmity.
He said deceased woman Muskan and one of the deceased were TikTok stars. He said no eyewitnesses have been traced as the killings took place early in the morning. Police found four shells of a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.
Muskan was a resident of Landhi, while Saddam lived in the Baldia Town. Police have collected evidence from the crime site and have started an investigation. The police have informed that there were some cases filed against Shah and Saddam Hussain — the third TikTok star who was shot dead last night — at different stations.
The former was booked for gambling and attempted murder in June 2019, whereas the latter was named in a case of drug-peddling in January 2021. Both were also booked in a case of aerial firing in January 2021.
