Punjab government has decided to establish two new amusement parks at prime locations in Lahore, aiming to create entertainment venues for the public.
According to PHA Director General Muhammad Tahir Wattoo, these parks will be a joint venture between the department and the private sector, offering various forms of indoor and outdoor entertainment for children and families.
The parks will feature rides, shows, and themed areas, and are expected to attract millions of visitors annually, boosting the Parks and Horticulture Authority’s revenue.
“This will be the first project of its kind to provide comprehensive entertainment in one place for the residents of Lahore,” Wattoo said.
Designed to cater to families, especially children, the parks will offer exciting rides, engaging shows, and creatively themed areas.
The new attractions will be located in Greater Iqbal Park and Jilani Park (formerly Race Course Park). PHA Director General Muhammad Tahir has approved the plan, with construction set to begin in 2024. Moreover, he said that the authority generated a profit of Rs2.5 billion in the last financial year.
